MOADU: complete user guide

Turn dates in photos, screenshots and PDF documents into Android calendar events. MOADU suggests events, you check and edit them, then save to your chosen calendar.

Important: AI can make mistakes. Always verify the date, time, title, location and notes before saving.

Step-by-step guide — no screenshots required

Find the instructions you need

This guide works without screenshots, videos or private example data. Follow each step on your own device; Android menu names may vary by manufacturer.

The basic workflow

Choose a source. Take a photo, select an image or PDF, or share a file from another Android app.
Analyze the document. MOADU extracts possible events, including dates and times where available.
Review and correct. Check all events and edit any incorrect or missing information.
Choose your calendar and save. Only confirm events you want to add. Verify that they appear in the selected Android calendar.

1. Set up MOADU

Choose languages. In Settings, select the app language and preferred languages for displayed and saved calendar events. A document may be in a different language.
Choose a destination calendar. Select an available calendar on your Android device. If several calendars exist, check which one will receive the events.
Create a separate Google Calendar (optional). On a computer, open Google Calendar in a browser. Next to Other calendars, click +, select Create new calendar, name it and create it. New Google calendars cannot currently be created in the Android Google Calendar app. Wait for sync, make sure the calendar is available and visible on the phone, then select it in MOADU. Other calendar providers may work differently.
Grant permission when requested. Android may ask for calendar permission when you use calendar features. Without the relevant permission MOADU cannot write events to that calendar.
First-use tips. A brief, contextual introduction inside MOADU is planned to explain the main controls. Its final Android release behavior is still subject to QA.

2. Import from camera, gallery or PDF

Camera: Take a readable photograph of the notice or schedule. Keep the date and time text in focus.
Gallery: Select an existing picture or screenshot containing event information.
PDF: Choose a document, such as an appointment letter or school event list.
Start the analysis: Wait for MOADU to show the events it found.
Review before saving: Verify each date, start/end time, title, place and notes; correct any errors and save the selected events to your chosen calendar.

Up to 50 events per document analysis are supported under the product policy. If there are more, only the first 50 in document order should be returned, with a notice to split the document and import the rest separately.

3. Share a PDF or image from another Android app

Open the image or PDF in email, Files, Downloads, Messenger or another app.
Tap Share in that app, then select MOADU as the destination. Depending on the app or Android version, use More to find MOADU.
Wait for extraction, review the proposed events, and save only the ones you want.
No Share option? Download or save the attachment, open it from the Android Files app, and use Share → MOADU. Some apps offer only their own internal Forward command, which may not work as Android Share.

For a quick illustrated introduction, see Sharing with MOADU on the English homepage.

4. Languages and original text

MOADU is intended to show and save event descriptions in your chosen language even when the source is in another language. Review factual details such as dates, times, names, locations and proper nouns carefully: translation must not alter them.

If available in Settings, enable Save original text in note to preserve relevant original wording alongside the translated calendar information. Verify the resulting note before saving.

5. More calendar features

Add an event manually

Enter at least a title and date without using AI. Add time, location, note or recurrence as needed, then verify before saving.

Search events

A comma means OR and a plus sign means AND. For example, Parents evening, Sport+Hall matches “Parents evening” or events containing both “Sport” and “Hall”.

Duplicates and overlaps

Review existing calendar events before importing again. MOADU is designed to warn about likely duplicates; an overlapping time alone should not prevent saving.

Morning and evening reminders

Local notifications for today's events in the morning and tomorrow's events in the evening are planned, with an option to turn them off. Release behavior is awaiting Android QA.

6. Free and Premium plans

Planned launch prices and monthly AI analysis limits:

Free

€0

3 successful AI document analyses per monthly period.

Premium Monthly

€2.49/month

30 successful AI document analyses per monthly period.

Premium Yearly

€20.99/year

30 successful AI document analyses per monthly period.

One document analysis counts as one scan even if it contains multiple events (up to 50). Failed requests, timeouts, invalid results and documents with no event candidates must not consume an AI scan. Manual entry, calendar saving, search and settings remain available after the AI limit is reached.

Premium is planned as an automatically renewing Google Play subscription, managed or cancelled through Google Play. Same-account multi-device restoration is a required feature but still awaits release verification. The checkout displays the final local price and terms. Subscriptions are not publicly available yet.

7. Troubleshooting

No events detected? Check the document, legibility and internet connection. Retry with a clearer photo or supported PDF.
Calendar missing or save failed? Check permissions, device calendar availability and sync. Do not assume an event was saved until it appears in your calendar.
MOADU missing in Share? Try the full Share list or save the file and share it from Files.
More than 50 dates? Divide the source into smaller documents and repeat the analysis for the remaining entries.
AI limit reached? Wait until your next allowance period to analyze more documents. You can still enter events manually.
